TRANSFER CREDIT POLICY

Credits from approved institutions may be accepted.

Grades

Courses with a letter grade of less than a C are not accepted.

Transfer Credit Limit

Credits from Recognized Institutions

If you have previous college credits from a nationally or regionally accredited institution or an institution certified by ATH or AETH, HGCC lets you transfer up to 75% of your academic program.

Credits from Unrecognized Institutions

If you have previous college credits from an unaccredited institution or an institution not recognized by ATH or AETH, then you may only transfer up to 50% of your academic program. Credits will transfer if the student receives a 2.7 GPA or above within the first two semesters of study.

Evaluation of Courses and Credits

For incoming students who have completed credits at another institution, HGCC will evaluate transcripts and help students transfer as many classes that can be used in the corresponding HGCC degree program.

Current Students Transfer Policy

On certain occasions, a student may wish to take classes for transfer from junior colleges or other institutions during the summer. These courses will only be transferred if the student has received advanced approval from the Academic Dean. The courses under consideration must be equivalent to those offered at Harbor Genesis Christian College and not be offered online through HGCC in the semester.

Transfer Credit to Other Institutions

Acceptance of earned credits is determined by the receiving institution.
